Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The Financial Conduct Authority is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public-Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard (“WCAG”), due to the non-compliances listed below.

Validation has been only been carried out for key pages, and this statement is prepared based on observation using the AXE tool.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Colour Contrast

The colour of some elements is less than the required contrast ratio. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast Minimum). We plan to fix this by March 2021.

  • Form Elements

Some of the form elements do not have a label, this fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 3.3.2 (Labels or Instructions). We plan to fix this by March 2021.

Disproportionate burden

Navigation and accessing information:

The PDFs on this site provide a public record of decisions. The PDFs are generated by the FCA using information provided to us by mutual societies directly. It would be a disproportionate burden to fix these PDFs. The PDFs are not fully accessible, so people using a screen reader cannot fully access the information.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Not Applicable.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We plan to fix the identified issues in the timescales specified and continue to test for and fix any non-accessible content.
